You may find that You have a Contra-Indication to your treatment offered. Therefore a consent form will be sent to your G.P. before any treatments commences to protect your safety.


For example:-
* High or low blood pressure, Running a temperature, Cancer and Serious heart conditions.

* Had a recent fracture or have large areas of scar tissue, (need to wait for 2-3 months).

* But gentle massage over the scar area with essential oils will minimize the scar and keeping it supple.

* Varicose veins, very gentle massage will be used.

* Broken skin, boils, cuts (if small simply cover the area with a sticking plaster).

* Recent inoculations (wait for at least 24 hours, longer if problematic).

* Recent alcohol intake (essential oils and massage together can heighten the effect of alcohol, possibly causing dizziness or a floaty feeling).

* Straight after a heavy meal (the body is concentrating on the digestion process, and a full body massage or abdomen massage could cause nausea; other individual areas may be massaged).

* If very hungry (full body massage could cause fainting).

* Immediately after sport, hot bath or sauna (the body is exhaling and the body can not absorb the essential oils - wait half an hour - one hour).

* First two days of mensuration, (the blood loss could be accelerated; local massage to soothe pain is helpful individual areas may be massaged).

* If on strong and varied medication (No full massage without doctor's permission, individual areas may be massaged).

* Pregnancy is not a contra-indication to massage (though often quoted as such). It can be most beneficial during the whole nine month period. Naturally, care has to be taken as the baby grows and the massage adapted accordingly.
